Let There Be Light!

Joe and I finally replaced this icky old chandelier with one that will actually light up the room.

Ugh.  So glad it's gone.

We picked out this pretty one from Lowes to take its place.

Joe made me laugh when he started to wave the "incense ball" from Catholic Mass and sang, "Kyrie Eleison"

So thankful for my handy husband!

Now we can actually see in this room at night!  Praise!

Here it is up close.  You can see how the leaf detail here is also found in other things in this room (rug, wall hangings).

Thank you, Honey!  I love it!

Belly Shot.14 weeks

Here's the first belly photos!  Taken on Valentine's Day--14 weeks along now.  Joe took the day off with me on Valentine's Day so that he could go with me to my doctor's appointment.  It was pretty special to hear Baby's heart beat on Valentine's Day :)
I know this is the shot everyone's been waiting for ;)

Contemplating the new life that God is forming inside of me
I used an old frame, took out the picture that was in it and replaced it with paper.  I simply wrote on the glass with a Vis-a-Vis pen.  When I was growing up, my dad used to have every color for drawing on our daily lunch napkins.  I could only find a blue one in our pen stash.  Guess I should get some more so my sign can be a little more creative.  Next time.

Last night we also began painting the alphabet letters for the nursery wall.  This is the whole collection.  Joe is painting them all different colors.  It's truly his project, but he let me help last night!

We set up shop in the baby's room, turned on the radio softly playing country music, and spent some quiet time painting last night.

As we worked, Joe asked me if a year ago, I would have thought that this Valentine's Day, we'd be sitting in the nursery doing this.  Nope, I definitely didn't.  But it was the perfect ending to our Valentine's Day together.  The last one just-the-two-of-us :)

Window Treatment for the Nursery

13 weeks pregnant now!
Here's a peak at one of the nursery projects we've been working on!  The nursery is going to have yellow accents.  We're going for a gender-neutral look.

This no-sew project was perfect for me, because I never learned how to sew.  I got the inspiration here.  I love how it turned out.  So bright and cheery!

Yesterday, the baby's first cloth diapers arrived!  Woohoo!  I got them at a great price on Zulily.  Love them!  I'm on the hunt for a deal on FuzziBunz diapers for the remainder.
Little by little, progress is being made in preparation for our sweet baby in August!
