The Pumpkin Photoshoot

Joe and I thought it would be cute to get some fun fall pictures of Whitney sitting in a pumpkin.  We didn't know she would hate it.  But she totally did.  Hated every second of it.  It was awful and we felt soooo guilty.  In fact, days later, I still have that guilt, even though I'm sure she's forgotten the event...

We would set her in the pumpkin, try to get some pictures, then take her out and soothe her and try again.  Over and over.  Never did get any happier about it.  I wonder what our neighbors thought we were doing!!  She was screaming her head off!!  There was only one photo out of 39 where it doesn't really look like she's upset.  Ah well.

Um, Mom?  What are you doing?
I hate this!

Dad, you'll save me, right?

Don't you guys understand me at all???

I can't believe they are leaving me in this pumpkin and laughing at me while they snap a zillion pictures when I'm clearly MAD!

Whew, Dad rescued me finally.  Mom, why didn't YOU?  I thought you loved me.

Oh no.  Not again.  This is awful.

I'm serious, Dad.  I can't stand this!!

I'm beside myself with anger.  I hate pumpkins!!

Please, Mom.

WAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!

This is so horrible!  I can't believe they don't understand that I want OUT!

NOW!!!

Whitney Week By Week~Her Second Month

Our little 2 month old is so much fun!

She is beautiful!

And she's becoming very social.  Little Whitney has found her voice, loves her reflection and flashes a gorgeous smile at anyone who needs it.  Melts my heart.

Whitney is quite dramatic--when she wakes up hungry she screams her head off whilst we're changing her diaper and then grumbles for a while even after she starts nursing, as though she just wants to make sure I know that she was upset and expects milk immediately--forget the diaper...It makes me laugh!

Joe has been back at work since Whit turned six weeks old.  Whitney and I enjoy our days together, but she also loves it when Daddy comes at the day's end.  She has a special bond with each of us already.

Here's Whitney's second month photo recap:

Whitney's Firsts

Whitney is seven weeks old today. These are some recent pictures of her. Yesterday she flashed me her first totally candid social smile as I was wiping her face clean post-spit up. Cutest smile ever. Joe saw her do it, too--melted our hearts away and made us both laugh.

We went to church service for the first time yesterday since she was born and she did great! Slept in Joe's arms the whole time!

Another first: she has grown out of all her newborn footed pajamas--made me sad to fold them all up and set them aside...last night after Whitney's bath, we tried to squeeze her into our favorite ducky PJs but it was clearly too tight lengthwise--I swear she is growing before our very eyes!
Still won't tolerate the backpack for more than a quick second.
Ready to celebrate Lakeside Church's 25th birthday!
We love how frumpy and adorable she looks in these wide PJs.  Our daughter is long and narrow!
A neighbor made her this awesome hat!
Our fave duckies are retired :(
Playin' with me this morning, October 1st
Sleepy child.  We love you.
Her personality shining through this morning!
She looks like me.  I love it!
Classic Whitney silliness.
