Dear Levi,
The day after you turned three months old, you began to talk a lot :) You generally engage Mommy in these long utterances, and I am happy to lend an ear--because you have the sweetest voice and I love listening to you! What a precious new development in your already sweet little character!
You are growing fast--you are a solid, burly boy weighing in at 16 pounds 2 ounces at your four month check up. You are in the 75th percentile for both height and weight. You are filling out your size 9 month clothes nicely! You have the squishiest chunky thighs. I've dubbed them your cinnamon rolls. You recently acquired a new roll in your groin area. I'm in love with all that SQUISH!
This month you have found your hands and are constantly chewing on them. The drool is profuse. You are able to purposefully grasp toys now, too. You love to grab a fistful of my chest flesh when you are nursing. Your grasp is really strong, my boy. Ouch!
You still love to be held in a standing position, although you seem to like sitting in the Bumbo seat for a little while now, too. You love looking at yourself in the mirror. Seeing yourself that way makes you really excited and that gooey grin of yours immediately sweeps across your face. Your smile is amazing!
Sleep-wise, you sleep through the night about half of the time this past month. We can't correlate why some nights it doesn't happen and other nights it does. At least you are really good at putting yourself down for bed and naps. No soothing required. The paci is a thing of the past for you now. You just spit it right out, communicating that you can do this yourself--to just give you a couple minutes to self-soothe (by yelling in that bellowing cry-voice you have). :) For how independent with falling asleep you are, though, I still love how you can also sleep in a backpack or wrap. This month, we transitioned from the Moby wrap to the Ergo. It is such a sweet thing to be able to hold my sleeping son.
I can't believe you are four months old. Time is flying! You are such a laid-back lad. You fit right in to our family and you balance out Whitney very well! You, my son, are such a delight. Your daddy and I (and everyone else), love the heck out of you!
