Whitney Week By Week~Her Tenth Month

Whitney Love, you are 10 months old now!

This month, you were the flower girl in Auntie Devon and Uncle Jack's wedding.  You were so cute in your flirty white dress.  Mommy pulled you down the aisle in an old red wagon.  Precious.  Everyone loved seeing you--many friends and family met you for the first time.

You are clapping and waving (a very dainty little wave).  Not interested in walking, but definitely pulling yourself up to a standing position on everything.  Mommy loves it when she's busy preparing food in the kitchen and she feels you pulling yourself up holding onto Mommy's calves.  I look down and see your precious little face looking up at me for attention.  Irresistible.  You are babbling a ton but the couple of words that you say regularly are, "Mama" and "book".

You are becoming more and more attached to Mommy (wanting to be carried everywhere) and more wary of strangers.

You love to flip the pages of your board books and love to sit and read them with us.  Riding your car and horses makes you super happy!  You love carrying the spoons from your tea set everywhere--one in each hand.  Or your gears.  Or your little tea cups.  Two of anything small enough to carry as you crawl.  Another favorite activity is knocking over the stack of blocks.  You will crawl quick as you can across the room, mouth wide open and smiling, just to swat a stack of four plush blocks.

For some reason, you've decided that it's okay to lie on your back for diaper changes.  Hallelujah.

We switched you from the swaddle to the sleep sack.  No problemo.  You are such a good sleeper and napper.  It's when you miss them that we've got a major problem on our hands ;)  You can throw the biggest tired-out cry fests.  Watch out, world!

You are getting even better at self-feeding--lately, you like feeding yourself peas, kidney beans, blueberries, deli turkey and Cheerios.  You've also figured out the fun of dropping food on the floor.  You are transitioning off of puree and doing great!  Still having trouble using sippy cups, but at least there's one type  that you will use.

A visit to the pediatric allergist, Dr. Chipps, confirmed our suspicion that you have a dairy allergy.  No fun!  As a family, we'll learn how to cope with it though!  Grandma Phyllis gave you sorbet for the first time, feeling sad that you can't have real ice cream :(

We love how smiley and happy you are.  You are very easy-going...except when you're not ;)  We get the biggest kick out of your giggle.  When we blow on your face, for example, you flash that pretty smile,
giggle uncontrollably,
start to hiccup...
and you light up the room.

You, Little One, light up our lives, for sure.  Love you, Angel!
