Happy Father's Day!

Daddy's girl on the way--32 weeks tomorrow!
Happy Father’s Day!  I can’t believe our little girl is almost here!  We have been through a lot together the past 6+ months.  I remember vividly taking that pregnancy test last December and how overwhelmed and scared we felt.  Now we are both so excited for Whitney to be born, and though we still are scared sometimes, we feel so lucky to have her and so blessed to get to be her parents.  I can’t thank you enough for carrying me through all the highs and lows of this pregnancy.  I couldn’t do this without you, Honey!  You are an amazing, supportive, selfless husband and by taking care of me, you are already taking care of Whitney.  She is blessed to have you as a daddy and I know it is going to be the thrill of your life to finally see her sweet tiny face and hold her tight for the first time.  She’s our little baby and good Lord, are we blessed.  Happy Father’s Day, Sweetie!  I love you!

Belly Shot.30 weeks

30 weeks.  Wow!  You are still a very active little thing, waking at predictable intervals and stirring around.  I think it is cute that you prefer to curl up on the right side of the womb when you are asleep--Daddy and I can see and pat the little ball of you on that side, making my belly lop-sided!

We took a weekender class all about labor and delivery a few days ago.  We both feel more prepared for what that is going to be like.  During the class, we got to practice breathing techniques and your Daddy was making me giggle.  I know that it won't be funny when I actually go into labor, but it sure was silly when we were practicing in class!

Daddy and I are always thinking about you and wondering what you will look like and what your personality will be like.  We pray for your life every day.  We pray for your health and that God would continue to shape you into the person He has in mind for you to be.  We pray for guidance as your parents and that He would prepare us for that role, which seems daunting and amazing all at the same time.

At today's checkup, the doctor put me on medical disability due to the contractions I've been getting while at work.  I can't wait to see you, but I don't want you to come early--so now I'm off of work.  You come first, baby girl :)

My checkup today went well--weight gain is good, belly measurement is on target, and your heart rate is perfect.  Daddy and I love hearing that sweet sound of life.  You are perfect and precious.  Keep thriving, dear daughter!

Burlap Wreath

One thing I love--wreaths.  Something so simple, yet it adds a special touch to our home year round.  Most recently, I made this one out of burlap.

I attached ribbon flowers onto it with pins so that I can easily change the look of this wreath with the seasons or when I get bored.  The ribbon flowers I made turned out cute, too--I like the button centers :)

Do you recognize our monogram from our wedding?  Thank you to my brother for changing the color for me :)  I secured it with tape to the center on a ribbon.  Once again, that way I can change out the do-dads in the middle if I want to.  Like I could add something that says, "Happy Summer" or "Welcome Baby", you get the idea...

What do you think?  If you want to make one, I can teach you how!
