Whitney Rose: 18 Months Old--Sorry I posted them out of order (I didn't know this blog didn't post last month. Oops! 19 months is posted after this one)

Happy Half Birthday, Angel!

You weigh 25 pounds (60th percentile) and you are 30.25 inches tall (75th percentile)!

This past month, you continued to develop really rapidly!

You have started to run.

You still love to put things back.  Like if you've taken my shoes out of the closet and I tell you to go put them away, please--you do.  Every time.  You are so helpful and seem to enjoy putting things away when we tell you.  So awesome!

You continue to hate veggies.  All of them.  You won't eat most things these days.  You do, however, enjoy sharing Mommy's smoothies, and eating cheese sticks and Chobani yogurt squeezer things.  Dairy allergy is fading, Praise God!

You like to play with cars/trains, bubbles ("bah") and crayons ("cah").  You like to push your stroller with baby in it, push the popper vacuum thing, and push your new wheel barrow.  You like to be outside while Mommy and Daddy do yard work--you have your very own little gardening gloves that you like to wear :)  You're still crazy about Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  You love it when Mommy sings songs to you.  Which I do a lot.  You love to take a bath and color with the bath crayons.  In the tub, you get a big kick out of pouring water on yourself with a toy watering can (which came with the wheel barrow).

Your language is impressive!  You finally call me "Mama".  It is the sweetest word in your vocabulary.  I can point to myself and say, "What's my name?" and you will say, "Mama" and smile.  You can point me out in pictures and identify my clothes when I'm folding everybody's laundry.  Of course, you can do the same with "Dada," but you've been doing that for a long time!  You are picking up on how to say "one," "two" and "five".  You use thank you appropriately and often.  We are still working on saying 'please' ("peas").   You can say "maybe" but you don't know what it means.  You've got a great handle on 'no'--everything you're certain of is answered with an adamant 'no' :)  Every day, you can be heard humming "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to yourself.  You know the entire song, Sweetie.  I wish I could get it on camera!  You've learned to call snacks "na", meat "me", cheese "chee".  You say, "All dum" for all done and "There sheez" for there she is/"There go" for there you go.  When we point to any alphabet letter, you call it "A".

Last week, we found out that you are going to have a little brother :)  This news is so exciting for us and it means that you will be my only little girl, forever and always.  It makes me appreciate and savor these moments of little you even more because I now know that I'll never have another little girl to raise!  You are going to be such a fabulous big sister.  I'm so happy :)

Mommy and Daddy love you so much, Angel.  You are perfect and we are insanely blessed.

Whitney Rose: 19 Months Old

Dear Whitney,

This month, you continue to grow and change dramatically.

New words:

"No way!" You say this all.the.time.  Whenever you don't want something, but sometimes when you actually do.  ;)  You still don't really know how to say 'yes'!

"Peas" and "Dee doo" for 'please' and 'thank you'.  So cute.

"Err go?" for 'Where'd it go?'  You say this anytime someone leaves or something goes out of sight, like a cat or car.

"Oh no"

"Grahba" for 'Grandma'

"Oh nice!"  You say this anytime you put on clothes, as though you admire the way they look and feel.

"Ah-sigh!" for 'outside!' whenever you want to go outside (you LOVE being outside!)

"Es fuh!" for "It's fun!", such as when you are going down the "Sigh!" ('slide!')

You can identify Elmo and bear.  It's getting hard to keep track of the new things you say, because your vocabulary is so big now!  You are learning more sounds that animals make, too.  Plus, it is evident that you understand almost everything we say.  So crazy and cool!

This month, you have developed a strong love of going down slides.  And you can do it by yourself now (on your belly, backwards, for the big slides).  You can't get enough of slides.  It is fun to watch you be so confident and bold at the playground--but you're careful, too.

You love to play with stickers.  One day, as we were about to go to the gym, I discovered an Elmo sticker that you had put on my bottom.  Wouldn't that have been awful if I didn't find it?!

You are also crazy about "ray" (raisins) and dried apricots.  And animal crackers (I keep them in the car now for a special treat when we're driving).  Ice is one of your other new favorite things--you like it when I put ice in your water bottle (you can say both 'ice' and 'cold').

Lately, you also love purses--Mommy's purses or even a simple paper grocery bag.  I think it's funny when you put a purse over your shoulder and say, "Bye!"  This is just one example of how you are so in tune to what I do (when I leave the house, in this case) and you like to copy everything.

This month, your canines came in.  They were so painful for you.  Worse than getting your molars.  No fun.

Also, you learned how to run.  It is really funny to watch you hustle around everywhere with your little legs :)

Lastly, this month, you started giving great big hugs to Mommy.  You squeeze really tight.  I am loving the affection that you now give me.  Sometimes, when I'm trying to put you in your crib for bed or a nap, you wrap your little arms so tightly around my shoulders and lay your head down, relaxed, like you don't want to let go.  This is probably a pretty normal occurrence for other moms and their little ones, but it has never been typical for you, Sweetheart.  Moments like those, I don't want to put you down, either.  If I weren't pregnant with a big belly and if you weren't so heavy, I would stand and hold you like that forever!  I love you so much, Baby.  Daddy does, too.  Can you get any more amazing??

You look so much like Auntie Devon in this picture

Daddy likes to take crying pictures

Let me guess, you wanted more cheese?

Daddy dresses you so funny on days that I'm at work.  You look like a little slugger!

You want raisins and Daddy said no more??

On our way to celebrate Ethan's birthday with a superhero theme

You were the cutest kid there!

Sitting with the big kids like it ain't no thang ;)

It sure is hard to get decent pictures of us together now that you're so wiggly!

Are you ready to save somebody or what?

Go!

You adore Grandma so much-when she's around, you pretty much don't want anything to do with me!

Sweet face!

Spending time outside is one of your favorite ways to spend the day.

You like to put on our shoes and try to walk in them.

Watching Mickey, of course!

Getting sleepy!

Do you know how loved you are?
Most food is poison, in your opinion.

Spending time with a girlfriend at breakfast one morning.

Sometimes, we play with chalk.

I love that you play with cars and trucks, Sweetheart.

Here you are, shutting the gate.  You like to shut every door and gate, like it bothers you when they are left open.  A little OCD like Mom???

On the run!

Watching you sleep is one of my favorite things--you pick a different position every single time.

Pardon the finger on the lens--you are fascinated with bubbles.

When Grandma came to visit this time, you learned how to call her, "Grahba".  You regularly use that word for both grandmas now, when you hear their voice on the phone or when looking at a picture of them!

Selfie on a hot March day

You are trying to get Mama to drink the water table water

Precious face!

So cute how you had your hand on your hip like that.

This was your first time walking part of the trail on our family walk one day.

So carefree and happy!

Pointing at the dog

Doing it by yourself!

The baby belly is cramping my style--it is hard to go down the slides with you now--I'm thankful you can go on your own :)
